Description:
WCDMA+ is a new technology proposed to the WCDMA/HSPA+ community that improves data capacity by making voice more efficient; it triples the spectral efficiency of WCDMA circuit switched voice to free up to 2/3rds of a full 5MHz carrier for downlink HSPA/HSPA+ data. Given that 2 Billion HSPA/HSPA+ subscribers will be using WCDMA voice in 2015, the case for enhancing WCDMA together with the HSPA+ evolution is obvious. WCDMA+ addresses the critical need to utilize finite spectrum assets more efficiently and at the same time be able to cost-effectively address all device segments.
