That’s why Qualcomm, through our Wireless Reach™ initiative, is collaborating with Renaissance Academy, a private correspondence high school in Japan, on a pioneering project that leverages 3G technologies to help high school dropouts re-engage in learning and earn their diplomas.

As a milestone marking the success and growth of the Wireless Reach Application Laboratory (AppLab) project, Bakrie Telecom invited me to participate in the launch of a new mobile phone that has a unique application package called “Usahaku.”

Recently, Wireless Reach sponsored a conference in Cape Town, South Africa that aimed to revolutionize the health care industry by addressing critical barriers and helping to create best practices for the emerging mobile health ecosystem. As an attendee at the event, I was able to observe the influence of mobility on health care worldwide.

I recently came across a blog post and photos on the Wireless Access for Health project (WAH) by the Center for Health Market Innovations. I have always been fascinated by the benefits that wireless connectivity can bring to underserved communities, particular in the area of e-health, and this project is really something extraordinary.

As a great precursor to Wireless EdTech 2011 this October, the ISTE 2011 (International Society for Technology in Education) conference held this June was a massive gathering of the best and brightest in a variety of fields relating to education technology. Conferences such as these provide the perfect grounds for leaders, who would not otherwise cross paths, to meet and discover ways to collaborate on how to best integrate technology into the classroom
