How Mobile Will Change Movies

“As an exercise, I downloaded a high-definition copy of 2001: A Space Odyssey onto my iPhone and proceeded to watch the movie all over town….Surprisingly, nothing in the film was visually diminished to the point of being indiscernible. To be sure, it wasn't as overwhelming as it had been at the Astor Plaza, but it was still recognizably 2001, with most of its serene glory intact. The size of the screen made little difference.

Spreading the Word in Silicon Valley

More than 600 people joined Qualcomm in Silicon Valley this week to hear about “What’s Next in Mobile.” It was Qualcomm’s second annual Bay Area mini-conference. The one-day event featured Qualcomm executives and drew a high-caliber crowd—including industry analysts, media, customers, and potential partners.

“I wanted to hear the road map,” said attendee Jim Eckstrom, a sales director with digital security company Inside Secure. “I got a boatload of information.”
