What kind of mobile experience do you expect?

I think I’m a pretty typical mobile user, which means I have high expectations with no room for compromise. I want to be connected all the time and anywhere I happen to be. I want great performance and I want the battery to last all day.

It’s not uncommon for me to use my smartphone to stream my favorite news program (I’m a news junkie), take pictures and video and upload them to share with friends and family (my daughter’s softball games are a favorite subject), or download and play the latest Angry Birds game when I have a few minutes to myself. And I get annoyed if the experience is not up to par - it has to be fast, reliable, high-quality and power efficient. And I know I’m not alone - I’m sure some of you feel the same way.

It’s end users like you and me that are the driving force behind the smart systems approach Qualcomm takes in designing our Snapdragon mobile processors. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a geek through and through, but when I use my smartphone I’m not thinking about what clock frequency the CPUs are running at, or how many triangles per second the GPU can crunch (well, maybe a little bit).

The point is that to the geek in me, that stuff is interesting, but to the consumer in me, the only thing I care about is the experience. Having best in class CPUs, GPUs, modems and other essential hardware and software capabilities is where we start.

Intelligently integrating all of those capabilities into a high performance, power efficient system on chip that delivers a superior mobile experience is the smart result.
