On the Job

“I’m chip lead on two new products, including Qualcomm’s first single-chip MSM to address the low-cost market. I make sure the MSM gets designed and meets the schedules. I love that my job is very challenging. The technologies we work on and the way we do things are always changing. We’re always trying to do things better. There’s always something new to learn.”

A Unique Company

“Qualcomm is a large company that feels like a small company. For engineers, that’s the best of both worlds. We get to work in many different disciplines the way we would at a small company. But because we’re a large and profitable company we always have the latest tools and better equipment.”

Corporate Values: Innovate, Execute, Partner

“Execute is the Qualcomm value I identify with the most. Design is just a small part of what my group does. Our bigger goal is to get a working product to market, and there’s a lot of execution that goes into that process.”

Wireless Technologies Make a Difference

“Wireless technology has given me independence. I can go where I want, when I want and still keep in touch with people. Wireless technology helps developing countries advance their communications systems. There are many regions in the world where it’s far more affordable to build wireless communications networks than it is to route wires to every home.”

A Natural Fit for my School’s Alumni

“Qualcomm is a very hands-on environment. Engineers do a lot of different things here, and we get to do a lot of lab work. San Diego State University emphasizes real-world solutions and hands-on work. That matches up very well with what we need at Qualcomm.”
