On the Job
“I’m a hardware applications engineer. Right now, I support the newest power management ICs. I answer technical questions from Qualcomm’s handset design customers around the world and de-bug customer issues. I feed back what I learn about customer wants and needs to our marketing folks and in that way I help define our company’s next generation of products. That’s really cool.”
A Unique Company
“Qualcomm has the stability of a large company and the attitude of a small company. We run lean, but it’s comfortably lean. The way that Qualcomm treats its employees is absolutely top class. The biannual reviews, the employee recognition program, education reimbursement and all of the other benefits we get make me feel really valued and an important part of the team.”
Corporate Values: Innovate, Execute, Partner
“The Qualcomm value I identify with the most is innovation. Qualcomm’s strengths are in innovating technology and in seizing business opportunities related to that technology, particularly in the area of patents and licensing. Where we really shine is in CDMA licensing and moving quickly and appropriately to lock in our business opportunities.”
Wireless Technologies Make a Difference
“Wireless internet has had the biggest impact in my life. Being able to bring my laptop anywhere and work from the patio, the beach, Starbucks and airports has made me much more productive. Wireless technology has made the world a smaller place. It’s bringing the world together. That’s a beautiful thing.”
A Natural Fit for my School’s Alumni
“I loved the quality of the education and the quality of the student body at University of California, Berkeley. I loved the school’s culture of innovation, challenge and free thinking. Berkeley nurtures winners. For a young alumni from an aggressive university, the environment at Qualcomm lines up well. It rewards people who achieve, are diligent and innovating. Qualcomm nurtures winners.”
