On the Job
“I am the technical lead for the design of a Mobile Display Digital Interface (MDDI). I love that I’m involved throughout the product’s life-cycle and get to do a little bit of everything. The part that’s real exciting to me is that I get to travel and meet with customers in Japan, Korea and Taiwan. I’ve had exposure to cultures and parts of the world that I’d only seen on TV before. I also really like that I’m involved in dreaming up how we can improve our product in its next generation.”
A Unique Company
“Qualcomm provides opportunities for employees to pursue areas you are interested in. This culture of allowing people to expand their knowledge combined with the entrepreneurial spirit of always looking at how we can innovate and improve is very inspiring. It makes me want to come to work and see what I can do to contribute to Qualcomm’s success.”
Corporate Values: Innovate, Execute, Partner
“Innovate is the Qualcomm value I identify with most. I’ve been working with the MDDI since its early days. I started out helping turn the idea into reality. I now dream up next-generation features and work on bringing those to life.”
Wireless Technologies Make a Difference
“Qualcomm’s technologies have had a huge impact in the progression of the wireless communications industry, particularly in some emerging markets where it’s too expensive to roll landline phones into every home. The lower cost of deploying wireless versus wired phones enables many more people to easily communicate with other people outside of their immediate neighborhoods.”
Learning and Development
“Learning and development has always been encouraged as a means to increase job effectiveness and grow as a working professional. Qualcomm's learning resources have made me more aware of the new and exciting developments occurring in other divisions within the organization. The resources at Qualcomm are far superior to any company that I've previously worked for.”
A Natural Fit for my School’s Alumni
“The engineering school at University of Colorado at Boulder (CU) was technically very challenging, but it was also a fun and collaborative environment. CU students have a work hard, play hard mentality. Qualcomm is much the same way.”
