Innovation Fellowship
We believe that Research and Development is the key to creating new technologies. For this reason, we are excited to sponsor the annual Qualcomm Innovation Fellowship (QInF).
QInF is focused on recognizing, rewarding, and mentoring innovative PhD students across a broad range of technical research areas, based on Qualcomm core values of innovation, execution and teamwork.
The Innovation Fellowship is open to students from a variety of top US based and (as of 2012) international schools. We encourage students to apply with an innovation proposal. Qualcomm’s CRD engineers participate in carefully reviewing all submitted proposals and selecting the QInF Finalists, who are then invited to present their proposals to a panel of executive judges. Winning students will be mentored by Qualcomm researchers, to facilitate close collaboration and interaction with Qualcomm CRD.
The rules for application and the selection of winning students vary slightly per country. The program in the various international locations are all distinct from each other and from the US Fellowship. We have immensely enjoyed running QInF, meeting all of the finalists, and collaborating with the winners. We look forward to its continued expansion.
QInF 2012 United States
In 2012, QInF expanded both, nationally (Columbia University) and for the first time internationally (see below). This year, we will award Fellowships across eight winning US based teams. Finalists have been announced!

QInF 2011
In 2011, the expansion of QInF continues to the East Coast, as the competition further includes CMU, MIT, Princeton, Rutgers, University of Maryland, and UIUC. This year, we will award Fellowships across eight winning teams.
QInF 2010
In 2010, QInF was expanded to southern California to include UCLA, UCSD and USC, with twelve Fellowships awarded across six winning teams.
QInF 2009
The inaugural QInF competition was held with UC Berkeley and Stanford, with four Fellowships awarded across two winning teams.
