Qualcomm Research Nuremberg

Qualcomm Research Nuremberg has a strong background on wireless WAN radio access and core network systems that contributes to development of advanced radio and network systems technologies for the further evolution of 3GPP LTE/EPS standards. Qualcomm Research Nuremberg also contributes to developing and standardizing solutions to problems in existing networks. This includes R&D on advanced receivers, relays and inter-cell interference coordination, eCall solution, as well as support of standardization work in ETSI and 3GPP.

Expertise: 3GPP access (GSM , UMTS , HSPA, LTE, LTE-A) and core network (GPRS , EPC) standards, multi-antenna techniques, interference management, self-organized networks, spectrum engineering, position location, automotive machine-type communications.

Qualcomm Research Nuremberg is cooperating strongly with the European research community in several European R&D projects to demonstrate Qualcomm’s leadership on wireless technology. Qualcomm Research Nuremberg is contributing significantly to development of the upcoming pan-European “eCall“ in-vehicle emergency communication system.
